CHOCOLATE FACTORY AND COCOA PLANET "Bean [TO] CIOK" - "From the cocoa beans to the tablet"
9.00 am – 11.00 pm, Matteotti Square
Davide Appendino, artisan of Turin's chocolate, will guide you on a journey into the world of chocolate on the "Planet Cacao" stand, showing you the plants, the countries of origin and the cocoa pods from which cocoa beans are extracted. The journey will then continue at the "Bean [TO] CIOK" Chocolate Factory,through the steps of the creation of an excellent product. A path in which you will be accompanied by a master chocolate maker who will tell, with the help of the relative machinery, the artisanal process that starts from the selection of cocoa beans and ends with the handmade creation of chocolate bars.

Sciocolino, the sweet and very nice Chocolate Bear, mascot of Sciocola ', will wander in the Historic Center of Modena among the exhibitors and areas dedicated to children, giving hugs and smiles.

EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOP FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS - "Chocolate Factory and Planet Cocoa Bean [To] CIOK"

A fun educational chocolate workshop by Davide Appendino, artisan of Turin chocolate. In this event the primary school classes will be able to learn and put into practice some of the processes that lead from cocoa beans to chocolate bars. Each group will discover the artisan path of creating the nectar of the Gods. Led by a Master chocolate maker, they will go through a surprising journey inside the Chocolate Factory, among cocoa plants and fascinating machinery with different functions, and will then be able to put into practice the teachings, armed with aprons, with a fun "hands-on" workshop that will allow them to play deepening the knowledge of cocoa beans and their transformation.

WORKSHOP L 'INFIORATA - "Tribute to the great Ayrton Senna"

An impressive floral display that will be made with the help of the children there. An entertaining and exciting open-air laboratory where children will slowly give color and shapeto this space that will eventually take the form of a great tribute to the Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna in the year in which the 25th anniversary of his death.

The roasting of cocoa beans is a fundamental moment in processing, because it is at this stage that cocoa develops and fully enhances its aroma. A different roasting procedure can give rise to very different scents in the final chocolate, which is why there are some factors to keep in mind during this process, such as the characteristics of the type of cocoa employed or the type of product to be obtained.

WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN – “Halloween Puppets”

The activity involves the creation of a Halloween themed paper puppet. Children, starting from a template provided by the teachers of Pingu's English Modena and following their instructions in English, will build a puppet in the shape of a ghost, a pumpkin, a vampire, thanks to which they will be able to learn and deepen words related to colors, stationery (paper, glue, scissors) and about the Halloween night.
The goal is to provide a first approach to a second language through a playful and engaging activity and at the same time learning-by-doing.

The activity involves the creation of slingshots shaped like ghosts. Paper cups, balloons, colored small pompoms and above all… a timeless theme for Halloween celebration: ghosts! Once the slingshot is built, there will be the hilarious Spiderweb game! The activities will be managed by Pingu’s English teachers in English, allowing participants to learn new words with a funny activity.

Teachers from Pingu's English Modena, will follow the kids giving instructions in English and illustrate the procedure and the materials necessary for the construction of the pumpkins. Objective: to recreate an atmosphere worthy of Halloween night!

In the full Mexican tradition of "El Dìa de los Muertos", teachers from Pingu's English Modena are waiting for you to create luminous lanterns in the shape of a skull and illuminate the night of the dead. We will create a magical setting with the help of children and a few simple elements: fluorescent ribbon and a jar that we will decorate like a skull. It will be great to see the final result and to reach the goal conveyed by the English language.
